Business Cards On The Internet I

November 18, 2008 – 1:58 pm

Business cards can bring loads of repeat traffic and referrals to your website.

If you’ve ever tried to run a client-based business, you’ve probably already noticed that the conditions for success under a client model are nearly the same as the conditions for success with Internet business. A website can’t succeed without referring links from other popular websites; a lawyer can’t succeed without referrals from satisfied clients or other business contacts. Referrals, in both business models, are the single determining factor to success.

For an offline client-based business, business cards are the simplest possible way to increase your chances of getting referrals. For online business, this holds less true, simply because a business card isn’t a hyperlink: your prospective client still has to physically type in your website address. But a good business card is still the simplest possible way to increase your website traffic by working in the real world.

And increasing your website traffic, in this sense, doesn’t just mean increasing it for prospective customers. The properties of a website that make it useful for selling products to customers (the ability to sell eyeballs, atoms, and bits) aren’t the be-all-end-all of Internet business. A website, in its simplest terms, is just a collection of various files–page files, certainly, but also images, music, and print-ready documents. In other words, a website allows you to show business contacts exactly what your business is about, with much more complexity than even the largest print advertisement. If you’re a writer, you might archive some of your best sample work. If you’re a lawyer, you might include detailed information about a few of your best cases, including testimonials from satisfied clients. There are any number of possibilities, limited only by your bandwidth and your imagination.

Business Method Patents, Part II

November 17, 2008 – 10:14 pm

Since the flood of applications to the Patent Office, various online companies have applied for and been granted patents on a wide variety of methods, many of those involving Internet shopping or Web commerce advertising.

In order to qualify for a business method patent there are various criteria that must be met. First of all, a business method patent is granted for a method or type of business software that is practical in its purpose. This is a criterion which is common for granting of all patents.

Another criterion is that the business method must not be obvious. The Patent Office will not approve applications for methods that they have deemed to be entirely obvious. It is easy to prove that a method is practical, but a little harder to prove it is not obvious.

A third criterion a business method patent must fulfill is that it should be something that is worth patenting. The Patent and Trademark Office will not just approve almost anything that comes through their office, but will scrutinize the applications to make sure they are worthy of being patented. This is the most subjective of the criteria that are applied, but it is not generally difficult to demonstrate that an idea is worthwhile, if it actually is.

Lastly, the method to be patented should be something that is new to the industry. The Patent Office will not patent anything that has been in use for a long time. The method or software must have been in use no more than one prior to the date of the patent application.

Like the other patent applications, the costs of the business method patent can vary from $2,000 to $10,000 or more depending on the costs of the patent lawyer’s fees (if you use one). Since the business method patent is a form of a utility patent, the patent owner must pay maintenance fees for the patent. These fees are approximately three times the application fee, spread over the course of the life of the patent. Usually the business method patent is valid for an average of twenty years. However, with the popularity of this type of patent, expect at least a two to three years’ wait before the patent is approved.

Make sure you consider a business method patent if you have unique business methods.

Business Promotion Tools

November 17, 2008 – 7:44 am

Stick them, replace them with new ones and remind yourself almost about anything. Student life is full of stuff to remember. The various theorems or long formulas could be made easy to remind as it remains in front of you every time you look at your favorite places in the room. Life is a mess when you are a student.

The sticky notes could solve a lot of the student’s problems. Well this was just about the use of sticky notes in student’s life but these are handy in other fields also. This is one of the most handy office tools that people use to promote their business. These are available in various forms, sizes and shapes. For example if someone wants to promote some products related to kids he can promote it by the use of colorful sticky notes which have pictures of cartoons or some animals in them. These are made to attract the customers and therefore they are made according to their interests. A football fan would look happier to link every thing with football. If the sticky note is meant to promote sports products then it must have some sporty look.

There are several other methods of promotion. Another one is the use of business card magnets. The property of magnet could be used in marketing. A company can put its motto or idea on these office tools. It can also be used to popularize the brand names of various companies. All these are inexpensive tools. Less expense and more profit.

Cash Gifting Advertising Techniques

November 14, 2008 – 10:22 pm

Are you able to afford to pay $2-$5 per click for the keyword “cash gifting” with Google’s AdWords? Well maybe you can, but do you want to. The answer is probably not. Are you purchasing direct mailing postcard for $0.50 to $1.50 per piece? Is advertising costing you so much that your cash gifting cash flow doesn’t justify it?

How would you like free or close to free leads and traffic chasing you? How would you feel if people were begging to join you and wanting to know more about you?

I’m going to list a couple of free marketing tools that you may utilize to start receiving more leads and traffic than you may be able to handle.

First, don’t do this! If you’re interesting in advertising yourself with MySpace or Facebook, you can download free demo software off the Internet. However, I do not recommend that you get any of these software programs and start adding friends to your MySpace or Facebook. MySpace for instance, will ask you to solve a “CAPTCHA” code prior to leaving an add friend request. On top of that, the person that you are asking to be your friend may ask you to solve an other captcha code. This is just too cumbersome and time consuming. My suggestion is to just search and add friends manually.

Now, you want to get yourself on Youtube and other video networking websites, statistics show that people on the Internet are watching videos more than ever. So video is where you want to start marketing yourself, your product, your service. You may start with downloading free demo video distribution software where you can get your videos distributed to multiple websites for free. More importantly, Google loves videos and you will get a higher ranking in the organic search listings.

Also, you can start blogs, lens, or write articles for e-magazines which will also get you ranked higher in the Google organic search. Make sure you use your target keyword(s) in the title and throughout your article, blog, or lens. And also be sure that the information that you are providing is relevant.

There is so much more that you can do to get more targeted leads and traffic. But i’m going to stop here.

If you’re serious about using Web 2.0 and social media to drive traffic to your website start using the tools above. They may be good complements to the advertising that you are utilizing now.

List Building - Secrets of Using Ezine Advertising to Build Your List to the Thousands!

November 11, 2008 – 10:12 am

The real secret to using ezine advertising to drive massive amounts of profitable traffic to your offer is to ride the winners high and drop them once they no longer become profitable. It is just like buying and selling stocks; ride the wave of those that are profitable and drop those that are not.

And that’s basically how you can get maximum traffic, maximum opt-ins and sales from ezine advertising. Find the winners, and continually push out ads in them until they no longer produce for you. Squeeze them dry, so to speak, and funnel subscribers and customers directly into your own opt-in list, so you can then do anything you want to build a relationship with your subscribers and monetize your list.

So how do you find the ezine ‘winners’ in your market? There are a few ways to do that. You can do a search on Google; that’s pretty straightforward and that may uncover a few profitable ezines for you.

Another way is to let others do the work for you. One site that compiles ezines is DirectoryOfEzines.com. It’s a site run by Charlie Page. Basically, it contains many ezines in all kinds of different markets that allow advertisers to run ads. Just do a search for your niche topic here, and you’ll be able to uncover many ezines in your market that accept solo ads, how many subscribers they have, and so on.

Before you run any ad, I recommend subscribing to the ezine first to get a feel of how they publish their newsletter. This way, you can tell if their ezine is a right fit for your offer. Many ezine advertisers don’t do this and end up blowing a lot of money on ineffective ads.

Are You Dialed in to Radio Advertising?

November 7, 2008 – 10:39 pm

As someone who has worked on both the creative and executive ends of advertising for 25 years, I can tell you that radio is one of my favorite mediums.

Why? Because radio truly is the “theater of the mind.” Radio uses voices, music and sound effects (sfx) to create moods and images that spark the imagination in very different ways than print or television ads do.

Advertise on radio, and you have the opportunity to deliver a powerful message to a specific group of listeners. Radio stations know exactly who their audiences are, so if know who your target customer is, radio gives you the perfect opportunity to reach him/her. Find the station with your demographic, get a sales rep who will partner with you, and get ready to mine for gold.

Another great thing about radio is that it’s everywhere. At home, in the car, at the office, at the ballpark…wherever your customer is, radio isn’t far away.

And have you ever noticed how loyal radio listeners are to their stations? Seriously loyal. Bordering on fanatical loyal. Mention a popular radio station’s call letters in a group of people and you will inevitably hear someone say “Oh, I listen to them all the time!”

Radio stations are also strong on community involvement. Whether it’s broadcasting a live remote at the grand opening of the new car dealership, or sponsoring a local charity event, no other medium touches listeners quite the same way radio does.

In conclusion, here are a few quick facts about radio you can use to impress your friends and family.

Radio’s return on investment (ROI) is much higher (some studies say as high as 49%!) than television’s ROI. Much of this can be attributed to the fact that television is much more expensive to produce and run than radio, so the money you spend to produce and run radio is much lower.

96% of people who drive or ride in a car use the radio.

In-car radio listening averages two hours and 12 minutes weekdays, and two hours and five minutes on weekends.

43% of drivers leave their car radios set to one station.

There are 5.6 radios per U.S. household.

There are over 13,500 registered radio stations in the U.S.

Okay, I’ll stop…you get the picture. Radio is everywhere! And if you want the most bang for your advertising buck, radio is still one of your best resources.

How to Use an Autoresponder and Do Stealth Followup Advertising

November 6, 2008 – 6:07 pm

These are a few simple ways that you can send people advertisements without them actually appearing as advertisements. The truth is, most people who see an “ad” will delete the message immediately so if you can get past that “ad meter”, you have the power to present your message in a less direct, although just as direct approach.

There you have it, that’s the simple follow-up procedure that you will be using to convert your eBay leads into paying customers and your customers into bigger customers.
An autoresponder is an e-mail tool that enables a person to sign up to receive information about your product or service, join your newsletter mailing list, or subscribe to an e-course. It’s related to the old “fax-back” service except it uses e-mail and your mail server instead of paper and a fax machine.

Smart marketers use autoresponders for all of this and more:

- Answering frequently asked questions.

- Delivering content that’s designed to automate the sales process.

- Build client loyalty and brand identification.

- Automate the customer service process.

Autoresponders Are Essential

Consistency in follow-up is the key to profits. Once you have obtained someone’s e-mail address and their permission to hear from you, it makes no sense to abuse that relationship by not delivering what you promised. That’s where using an autoresponder to automate your newsletter or e-zine comes into play.

When you use an autoresponder you can operate in “set and forget” mode. You simply load up your autoresponder with a series of messages, set the contact interval, and walk away. It doesn’t get any easier than that.

When you follow up with each person on your list “individually” over a period of time and at pre-set intervals, your sales results increase dramatically. Serious marketers who use autoresponders report that their sales have at least doubled as a result of their efforts.

One of the best and cheapest AutoResponders can be bound at www.ProfitSponder.com

Online Advertising - What Are Your Best Options?

November 6, 2008 – 12:03 am

In your search for ways to find the best online promotions, you have probably asked yourself the familiar question, “What is the best way to promote my website?” Whether you are looking to promote an affiliate website or some other form of money making site, the answer to that question is complex. Quite frankly, there is not one right answer to that question. There are many good ways to promote your website successfully and it would be in your best interest to take advantage of every one of them.

When it comes to online promotion for your work at home venture, the old saying “Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket” rings true. With that in mind, the best ways to advertise your site are; PPC search engine advertising, forum advertising, and blogging or article writing. These are key to your sites success. It would be wise to experiment with each of these choices for a while until you have found the cheapest and most effective way to get traffic to your site.

Determination is key. Too many entrepreneurs have failed before they even gave their business a real opportunity to succeed. They tried one marketing approach and instead of fiddling with it until it worked or tried various other techniques, they threw in the towel too hastily. So, make sure to give your endeavor viable time to see whether it can be profitable. Who knows, the extra effort may prove to be the best business decision you ever make.
