Dealership insignia aren”t required
July 2, 2009 – 10:17 amDealership insignia aren”t required.
Why must local car dealers put decals or medallions advertising their dealerships on the backs of the cars they sell? Why should they get to advertise on a car after I”ve bought it? I plan to demand that no decal or medallion be put on my next new car or the deal will be off! — JoeDealers use the stickers or medallions because they consider them great advertising and a good way to distinguish the cars they sell from those of other dealers offering the same models, said Tim Jackson, president of the Colorado Automobile Dealers Association.’I”m not aware of any dealers that don”t use them,’ he said. But if a prospective buyer didn”t want one on his new car, ‘I”m sure (the dealer) would pop it off for the customer at no cost,’ Jackson said. The insignia are easy to remove and the result looks fine if they haven”t been on the car long, he added.more
